Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse hit the theaters on June 2nd, 2023 and its heartwrenching quotes and amazing characters stole the hearts of millions of viewers around the world. Phil Lord, Christoper Miller, and David Callaham did an excellent job giving each character that swung across the screen an impactful role in Miles' story. With Miles' moother, Rio, speech Instilling confidence and love into her son, his dad talking to him as spiderman, venting about being a father, and Miles defying Miguel and doing his own thing, were all great moments in the movie that really had me hooked. With that being said, lets dive into these quotes.

Miles Morales

Miguel O'Hara: You don't belong here. You never did.
Miles Morales: [strained] Let... me... go!
Gwen Stacy: Miguel, that's enough!
Peter B. Parker: This isn't what we talked about!
Miles Morales: You talked about this? You knew? You- you all knew?
Gwen Stacy: I- I didn't know... how to tell you.
Miles Morales: [disappointed] That's why you never came to see me.

Gwen Stacy: Miles, it's for your own good!
Miles Morales: Who decides that?
Miles Morales: I'm not a kid, Gwen!
Miguel O'Hara: That's exactly what you are. You're just a kid who has no idea what he's doing!
Miles Morales: Yeah, well... I *did* lure hundreds of Spider-People away from your little clubhouse.
Peter B. Parker: I guess he *did* plan this out.
Miles Morales: And... I'm about to do this.

Miles Morales: Everyone keeps telling me how *my* story is supposed to go. Nah... I'm-a do my own thing.
Miles Morales: Sorry, man. I'm going home.
Miles Morales: Goodbye, Gwen.
Gwen Stacy: Miles!

"I saw all these amazing places and met all these amazing people. But they didn't want me. I kept thinking about what you said I let them have it mom. I beat them all. I know how strong I am now. I'm strong because of you and dad..."
- Miles Morales when he returns "home" after the climax

Rio Morales

Rio and Miles on the rooftop. scene from across the spider-verse

"For years I've been taking care of this little boy right? Making sure that he is loved. That he feels like he belongs wherever he wants to be. He wants to go out into the world and do great big things and what I worry about most is they won't look out for you like us. They won't root for you like us. So. Here's the deal. Wherever you go from here you have to promise to take care of that little boy for me. Make sure he never forgets where he came from and he never doubts that he is loved and he never lets anyone at those big fancy places he's going to be tell him that he doesn't belong there..."
―Rio Morales to Miles Morales

Hobie Brown

Hobie Brown in the spider-society

Hobie Brown: Alright my name's Hobie, Hobie Brown. I was bitten by a- wouldn't you like to know, get what I mean? And for the last three years I've been the one and only- wait, wait, waitwaitwait wait wait. You think I'm gonna show my secret identity? Come out of it. That is when I'm not playing shows, antagonising facists, staging unpermitted political action/performing art pieces. OR, having a laugh at the pub with the mandem. I'm not a role model, I was briefly a runway model. I hate the AM, I hate the PM, I hate labels, I'm not a hero, because calling yourself a hero makes you a self-mythologizing narcissistic autocrat.
Miles Morales: Wait, I thought you hated labels.

Gwen Stacy

gwen stacy across the spider-verse

Gwen Stacy: You're a good cop, Dad. You know you put on that badge because you know if you don't, someone who shouldn't will. But you have to understand, this mask... is my badge, and I'm trying to be good too. I was trying so hard to wear this thing the way you would want, and I didn't... I didn't. I can do all these things but I can't help the people I loved the most, and they can only know half of who I am, so I'm-I'm completely on my own. And now I don't-I don't even know what the right thing is anymore, I don't know what I'm supposed to do, but I know... I can't lose one more friend.
George Stacy: Gwen, I always taught you to do it by the book.
Gwen Stacy: Yeah, and how did that work out?
George Stacy: I took an oath...
Gwen Stacy: Then arrest me, Dad... Get it over with.
George Stacy: I... I can't.
Gwen Stacy: Why not?
George Stacy: ...Because I quit.
Gwen Stacy: When?
George Stacy: About halfway through your big speech.
Gwen Stacy: You're... Wait a minute you're not-you're not gonna be Captain? Then that means...
George Stacy: My job... being Captain. This whole thing doesn't matter anymore. You're the best thing I've ever done.
